Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy

Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy indeed played a significant role in the YSRCP administration during the 2019-2024 term. Acting as an unofficial spokesperson and decision-maker, he had a central role in governance, often addressing the media after cabinet meetings and being seen as a “Minister for All Departments.” This led to his prominence, with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy relying on him as a key advisor.

However, after YSRCP’s defeat in the recent elections, the political landscape within the party has shifted, with Sajjala becoming a target for criticism. Many within the party, including prominent figures like K. Ravichandra Reddy, have subtly or directly blamed him for the electoral loss, particularly his role in candidate selection and key decisions.

Sajjala’s absence from the public eye post-defeat seemed like a quiet withdrawal, but his influence remains strong, as evident in the exclusion of Ravichandra Reddy from the list of official spokespersons for TV debates—a decision that reflects Sajjala’s continued grip over YSRCP’s internal affairs. Despite the internal strife, Sajjala appears to maintain significant authority, subtly demonstrating his control over party operations even after the election loss.
