Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy is the Advisor to the Government of Andhra Pradesh for public affairs. He has got a cabinet rank for it. There is no trace of any advice by Sajjala regarding anything that pertains to public affairs.
All that he does is do YSR Congress party work and give press meets, criticizing the opponents.
There are allegations that Sajjala runs the entire show in the party and the government while Jagan remains a dummy.
After the 2024 election defeat, we have seen the party leadership and cadres blaming Sajjala Rama Krishna Reddy for the debacle.
His son, Sajjala Bhargava Reddy, headed the Party’s Social Media. He is also blamed for a flawed social media strategy, and Jagan axed him. But Senior Sajjala is still heading Jagan’s coterie.
But then, he is rarely coming before the Media. But those who are aware of the party’s internal affairs say Sajjala is just lying low, but he is still calling the shots.
Meanwhile, there are rumors in the YSR Congress circles that Jagan is planning to revamp the Coterie and Sajjala Rama Krishna Reddy will be shown the door very soon.
They say Pulivendula leader Singareddy Satish Reddy will be replacing Sajjala in Tadepalli Palace.
This is a really strange name because Satish Reddy was a rival to the YS family for many years.
He contested unsuccessfully opposite YSR and Jagan Mohan Reddy in Pulivendula in four elections from 1999 to 2014.
Satish Reddy was born in the Telugu Desam Party and was elected as the Deputy Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council in 2014. He was elected unanimously as an MLC in 2011 and 2014 but later switched sides to YSR Congress before the 2024 elections.
Satish Reddy hails from Vempalle, Kadapa district, and was associated with TDP for a very long time. He was elected as the Single Window President in 1988, as the Mandal President of the TDP in 1995, and as an MLC.
He was like an arch-rival of the YS Family for most of his career. But he distanced himself from TDP since 2020, after B Tech Ravi’s prominence grew in the party and the district.
Satish Reddy has been appointed as the Party’s General Secretary and has become an active voice of the party in the Media.
But then, the question is whether Jagan will entrust a crucial responsibility like Sajjala’s to a leader who is associated with TDP for a very long time.
Knowing Jagan Mohan Reddy, it sounds very impractical.
