Sajjala Bhargava Reddy, son of Sajjala Rama Krishna Reddy is currently handling the social media teams of YSR Congress. Jagan handed him over the key responsibility of social media which is going to be very crucial in the elections.
There are allegations that he is unable to handle it properly. Meanwhile, there are rumors that Sajjala also wants to field his son in a direct election in the upcoming assembly elections.
Buzz is that he is seeking Ponnur (Guntur district) ticket for Bhargava Reddy. For those who do not know, Sajjala never contested a single election in his entire life.
Ponnur is a TDP stronghold. Ever since TDP’s inception, there have been nine elections here and TDP won seven. Dhulipalla Narendra won five of them on a trot and his father, Dhulipalla Veeraiah Chowdary won twice.
Only in 2019, YSR Congress was able to defeat Narendra.
So, the debutant will be up against a very strong man. Moreover, Ponnur has a high concentration of the Kamma community. For that very reason, we only see Kammas contesting in this seat. Fielding a Reddy will be an experiment for sure.
Kilari Venkata Rosaiah won against Narendra in Ponnur in 2019. But then, he is likely to be denied a ticket this time as he is completely inactive in the constituency and also away from the party cadre.
