Durgam Cheruvu Bridge

Cyberabad Traffic Police have taken decisive action to address the dangerous trend of people stopping on the Durgam Cheruvu cable bridge for selfies and photos, which has led to an alarming rise in accidents.

Following a tragic incident where a youth lost his life due to a car collision while attempting to take a selfie, strict enforcement measures have been implemented.

A significant fine of Rs. 1,000 will be imposed on individuals obstructing traffic on the bridge. So no more selfies, cutting cakes, or birthday celebrations are allowed on the Durgam Cheruvu bridge.

Commuters are strongly urged to use designated parking areas like ITC Kohenur provided for convenience. The footpath on the bridge is designated for pedestrian activities, while celebrations such as birthday gatherings are strictly prohibited.

Last year, Tank Bund Road lost its tradition due to GHMC’s decision to ban the practice of celebrating birthdays. Due to this many started using the Durgam Cheruvu bridge to celebrate birthdays and take selfies. Now that location is also prohibited from all such activities.
