In East Godavari district, YSRCP MLAs from Prathipadu, Jaggampeta, and Pithapuram constituencies received a shock as the party leadership decided to reject their candidates in the next election.
Mithun Reddy, a party observer, was summoned to Amaravati and delivered the surprising news. An order was issued specifying who would be given a ticket in their positions, instructing them to cooperate accordingly.
Expressing their displeasure at not being given tickets, the three MLAs stated that they would directly approach Chief Minister Jagan to resolve the matter. Jaggampeta MLA Chantibabu held a meeting after the rejection of the seat, causing tension within the party about the potential announcement.
Party members claimed that the three MLAs were informed that they would not be given seats in the next election due to the findings of a party-conducted survey indicating significant anti-incumbency sentiment against them. Mithun Reddy cited this sentiment as the reason for their removal from the ticket.
When the administration announced the denial of tickets, the three MLAs reportedly strongly opposed the decision. Mithun Reddy was questioned about the denial of the seat, especially after he had claimed to receive good marks in the survey for his performance in the Gadapa Gadapa and other programs.
One of the MLAs argued that he had informed Jagan about the need for surgery on his leg and expressed his commitment to participate in party activities after the operation. The MLA questioned why the ticket was not being granted now.
