The gunman who shot three of the Virginia University football team dead and injured two was on the loose on Sunday night. He was said to be armed and dangerous. However, the police now have Christopher Darnell Johnson in custody following massive combing operations in the county.
It was 22.30 local time when the police announced that shots had been heard in the area of Culbreth Road on the campus. Johnson, a black male was wearing a burgundy jacket, blue jeans, and red shoes, according to the campus police.
Incidentally, his mother feigned ignorance about her biological son saying he grew up with his grandmother and that she knew nothing about him. The police have so far not given any valid reason for shootings.
Now that the shooter has been apprehended, the local community wants to mourn together for the loss of three bright and promising students. The Virginia shooting is one among the 600 mass shootings that took place this year.
