In a heart-wrenching turn of events, Congress leader CK Ravichandran tragically passed away during a live press conference in Bengaluru on August 19.
The 48-year-old was speaking passionately against Karnataka Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot’s decision to prosecute Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site allotment scandal.
As Ravichandran voiced his views, he suddenly suffered a massive heart attack.
The press conference, held at the Bengaluru Press Club, was abruptly interrupted when Ravichandran collapsed mid-sentence.
A video circulating on social media poignantly captures the moment of his collapse and the frantic efforts of those around him to assist.
Despite their swift response, Ravichandran could not be revived and died at the scene.
C.K. Ravichandran, originally from Chintamani in Kolar, was a well-known figure in Karnataka politics. His career was marked by close ties with both the late former Chief Minister Bangarappa and the current Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Recently, he had become a member of the Congress party and was actively involved as part of the party’s campaign committee.
Ravichandran’s sudden death has left a deep void in the political community. His passing during a live press conference has been a tragic blow to his party, family, friends, and colleagues.
