Reports suggest that many officers in the IAS and IPS cadre have met the new Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy, but Smita Sabharwal has not. Furthermore, she did not attend a review meeting conducted by Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy last week. These developments have fueled rumors that Smita is contemplating a move to Union Services from Telangana.

In response to the speculations, Smita Sabharwal took to Twitter to clarify that she is not leaving and will continue to remain in the Telangana cadre. Despite the clarification, the fact that she has not met Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and did not attend the reviews of the Irrigation Department has led to ongoing discussions and debates.

There were also whispers that she had decided to move to central services and had applied to the Central Secretariat Service (CSS) to be relieved from state services. The situation remains dynamic, and clarity on her future role is awaited.
