In the recent past, giri pradakshina became an obsession with citizens from the Telugu states. After spiritual speaker Chaganti Koteswara Rao spoke about it, Telugus developed a craze to go for giri pradakshina.
Now, being spiritual in today’s time is about retaining faith and a welcome change. However, the giri pradakshina was happening at Arunachalam. Again, nothing wrong with it.
Arunachalam is a powerful spiritual place and doing giri pradakshina in such a place brings positive vibes. However, the only glitch here is that giri pradakshina happens in Arunachalam which is in Tamil Nadu. One might wonder what is wrong with that as Telugus these days go all the way up north to visit Char Dham.
But the problem point is the increasing biases among Tamilians towards Telugus who visit Arunachalam. Various incidents have been reported in media about the way local Tamilians treat Telugus without any neighborly respect.
But looks like the divine intervention happened and the citizens of Telugu states now have a giri pradakshina of their own, right in Andhra Pradesh.
Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan virtually inaugurated the 22 km road route giri pradakshina at Srikalahasti on Friday morning. This is a beautiful opportunity for Telugu citizens to fulfill their wish.
The devout citizens of Andhra Pradesh are welcoming the move and thanking CM Chandrababu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan for not just addressing their problem, but for providing a viable option.
