The entry of Tamil star Vijay in politics is the most talked about topic in the Tamil Nadu political circles of late and expectedly so. Likewise, the star hero is facing intense criticism from the leading political parties in the state.
The main narrative that is being spread against Vijay is that he is a plan B of the BJP. Earlier, the BJP tried to rope in Rajinikanth as its star campaigner in Telangana but the move fell through at the last minute. Now, Vijay’s entry in politics is being seen as a B-wing plan of BJP.

There are media reports that Vijay is being seen as the catalyst for BJP in Tamil Nadu which is already trekking places with the existing president Annamalai.
At the same time, the ruling DMK party troops argue that Vijay is a sidekick who is being used to attract the minority community and youth voters of the party. They are saying Vijay is a ploy to cash in on the anti-incumbency votes.

As a result, star hero Vijay is being tipped to be a B wing for BJP and also AIDMK in Tamil Nadu. The real challenge for him will be to prove his individual strengths in politics as that is the only way his Tamizha Vetri Kazhagam party can sustain in Tamil Nadu politics. This party will contest in 2026 TN assembly elections.
