Amaravati Cases Adjourned Under Dramatic Circumstances

Supreme_Court_Of_IndiaAmaravati cases which were supposed to be heard in the Supreme Court on November 14th were pre-listed for November 4th (today). It happened earlier also.

The present CJI UU Lalit was a lawyer for Jagan Mohan Reddy in disproportionate assets cases. So, Amaravati farmers were worried about the Government forcing the Pre-listing of the cases.

But UU Lalit used ‘Not Before me’ previously and transferred the case to another bench.

There is a sense of panic in the farmers once again as the cases got pre-listed once again today.

Justice. KM.Joseph, Justice BV.Nagarathna bench was supposed to hear the case. It was listed as item number 47 on the bench.

But the bench concluded its day’s work after hearing 35 items.

Today is the last working day of UU Lalit who is retiring on November 8th. So the CJI is going to have a chit-chat program with all the judges at 1.30 PM.

So, the bench could not hear the case today. The next hearing is posted to November 14th. That means under a new CJI.
