A bench comprising Justices Sanjiv Khanna and SVN Bhatti heard Former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s Special Leave Petition in the Skill Development Case. But then, the arguments never started.
As soon as the item came up, Justice Sanjiv Khanna said, “My brother (SVN Bhatti) has some reservations about hearing the matter”.
Senior Advocate Harish Salve appearing for Chandrababu Naidu replied, “We can say nothing about that. Please list it as early as possible”.
He pleaded for a hearing at least on Monday but the bench posted it after one week.
In response to Justice SVN Bhatti recusing himself, Senior Advocate Sidharth Luthra requested the Bench to mention it before the Chief Justice and the Bench allowed it.
It has to be seen if the Chief Justice will give an immediate hearing to Chandrababu Naidu in this matter.
Meanwhile, the ACB Court is hearing the CID’s Custody extension petition and Chandrababu Naidu’s bail petition today.
