The officials of Telangana State Finance ministry are toiling hard for as much as 12 hours a day to prepare a satisfactory budget for the new state. They have already finished the draft budget last month but it was totally rejected by the Chief Minister calling it a ‘cut and paste’ work which will not cater to the aspirations of the people in the new state. The CM had appointed 14 task forces to prepare budget according to his vision.
The officials are now studying Chief Minister’s speeches over the last 4 months to understand his ideas and incorporate them in the draft budget. The budget session in the new state was supposed to begin from September 10th but is now planned for October first week.The deadline for the new budget have already gone waste twice. And now the state is in a danger of constitutional crisis as the vote-on-account budget approved by the undivided state expires on September 30 and the government will not be in a position even to utilize single rupee from the treasury from October 1
