Telugu Desam Party and Janasena announced their alliance in Andhra Pradesh. Both sides will nominate members for a Joint Action Committee which will chalk out the common program of the alliance.
Meanwhile, both parties are still keeping the doors open for the BJP to decide if it will join the alliance.
Also, there is no clarity if they will contest together in Telangana.
TDP and Janasena have a common problem in Telangana. They could not infuse confidence in their vote base they could win seats. Voters do not like to waste their votes on losing parties.
If both parties join hands, they can improve their chances. The alliance in Telangana will get the confidence in their votes. Besides their traditional vote base, the alliance can impact the mindset of some neutrals as well.
These parties can be a headache for the main parties, especially in settlers majority of areas like the GHMC and Khammam.
But then, elections in Telangana are very close and they need to act fast if they have to give enough time for their candidates to work on the ground.
