Andhra Pradesh politics took a sudden jolt after Former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was jailed for what appears to be a case on flimsy grounds. His son, Lokesh had to stop his Padayatra and is camping in Delhi to explore a legal way to bring his father out and it is taking more time than expected.
With Number 1 and Number 2 out of sight, some people are predicting a leadership crisis and are foretelling a big issue for the upcoming elections. But Political experts say the crisis is simply overblown.

Elections in Andhra Pradesh are six months away before the notification. People across the state are clear that jailing Chandrababu is nothing but a political vendetta. This will only translate into sympathy and votes.
Also, there is nothing like Chandrababu will stay in jail forever. It’s just a matter of time before he comes out. It may take one month or two months. Unless he is in jail until the elections, there is nothing to worry about.

Also, this crisis is overblown because Lokesh is also unavailable. He already indicated that he would resume his Yuvagalam Padayatra in a week. If that happens and if he is not arrested in some case or the other, there is no crisis at all.
If he is arrested, people will have no doubts whatsoever about what is happening in the state and that can potentially change the face of the election completely. Even if the father and son are jailed, the bail in these cases can not be delayed forever and they will be out before elections.

During their absence, Bhuvaneshwari and Brahmani will run the show. Their absence will be compensated completely by the sympathy wave that will come TDP’s way.
Except for the scenario where TDP will be facing the elections without Chandrababu or Lokesh, this so-called crisis is just overblown. That scenario is very unlikely and if that happens, TDP will miss Chandrababu’s experience. But then, if elections move over sympathy, there is not much need for experience.
