The Indian Parliament absolutely shook with intensity today as the NDA presented the delimitation proposal in the house and opened discussion on the same.
While an active and healthy discussion on this matter is always going to be welcome, there was something that young BJP MP from Karnataka Tejasvi Surya said, which created an instant sensation.
While addressing the Parliament regarding the delimitation bill, Surya made an unnecessarily provocative comment involving Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
“The Congress Government had bifurcated the United Andhra Pradesh even worse than how the British divided India and Telangana. Both the states ended up losing heavily due to the improper bifurcation carried out by the previous administration.” The young MP said in the parliament.
It is understandable that the Karnataka MP has hard feelings on the way in which Andhra Pradesh and Telangana were bifurcated. The choice of words and the comparison to India and Pakistan split isn’t sitting well with the Telugu folk.
Many social media users from the Telugu community or offended by this comment by the BJP MP and are making serious reciprocal remarks against him. He has managed to trigger both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana public with this wild comment.
