Telangana: Insult to State BJP Chief

Telangana BJP’s internal struggle came out in the open during the TBJP’s preparatory meeting for the Jubilee Hills bypolls. The party had plans to contest Nandamuri Suhasini, hoping to leverage caste equations and demographic changes for electoral advantage.

Before any official decision could be announced, an unexpected moment grabbed attention. Medak MP Raghunandan Rao repeatedly referred to Union Minister Kishan Reddy as the TBJP chief during the meeting held on Saturday evening, and it was no slip of the tongue.

He mentioned Kishan Reddy as the state chief at least six times, making the rift between him and Telangana BJP president Ramchander Rao evident. Political observers say the move was intentional and amounted to an open insult within party ranks.

Ramchander Rao’s appointment as TBJP president was seen as a surprise wild card entry. Many leaders were already unhappy with his selection. On Friday, former BJP leader Raja Singh also spoke about splinter groups in the party and dissatisfaction with Ramchander Rao’s leadership.
