GHMC Commissioner and Hyderabad District Election Officer RV Karnan announced that the Election Commission of India has released the schedule for the Special Summary Revision before the Jubilee Hills by election. The announcement comes ahead of a key political contest in the city.
The by election was necessitated by the death of BRS MLA Maganti Gopinath. The draft electoral roll will be published on September 2, and the Special Summary Revision will be conducted from September 2 to September 17.
Residents who turned 18 by July 1 can enrol as voters during this period. Claims and objections will also be accepted and resolved by September 25. The final electoral roll will be published on September 30.
As of August 20, 2025, Jubilee Hills has 3,92,403 voters. Among them, 2,04,165 are male and 1,88,213 are female, while 25 are listed as others. The revision will also remove duplicate and deceased names from the rolls.
The constituency has 329 polling stations across 132 locations. Jubilee Hills is considered a high profile seat as it houses some of the wealthiest residents in Hyderabad. Political parties are preparing to compete strongly for the constituency.
While BRS expects sympathy votes, the Telangana Congress hopes to benefit as the ruling party. The BJP is also confident of gaining ground, pointing to demographic changes in Jubilee Hills over recent years. The bypoll date is now awaited.
