Jail For KCR, Harish Rao Imminent?

BRS leaders face CBI probe

The political scene in Telangana has suddenly turned tense. The BRS party is under pressure after the state government decided to hand over the Kaleshwaram case to the CBI.

BRS workers staged a dharna at Gun Park in protest against the decision. Meanwhile, BRS chief KCR met working president KTR at his Erravelli farmhouse. Party sources say they discussed the handover of the Kaleshwaram case, Assembly decisions, and the possible fallout.

KCR and Harish Rao had earlier filed a stay petition in connection with the Kaleshwaram case. After the new developments, their lawyer urged the High Court for a speedy hearing. The Court, however, stated that the matter would be taken up on Tuesday.

The lawyer also requested interim orders to stall any action, but the High Court made it clear that it would not issue such a stay.

These developments have triggered speculation that KCR and Harish Rao may face arrest. Analysts believe the Revanth Reddy government is determined to act against those responsible for the alleged irregularities in the costly Kaleshwaram project.
