The ruling party of Telangana State had started its preparations for the crucial Greater Hyderabad Mucipal Elections (GHMC) in November. The party which had very little presence in the capital took the help of MIM to establish in the city. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao had sent clear instructions to his party chieftains to take the elections seriously as TDP-BJP combine has 14 out of the 24 assembly and two of the four Lok Sabha seats in the GHMC area in the recently-concluded polls.
KCR had deployed K Keshava Rao and Harish Rao to take up poaching of MLAs and Senior leaders from TDP and YSR Congress from the region. Already YSR Congress leader Vijaya Reddy, who unsuccessfully contested from Khairatabad is ready to join the party. Her father Late PJR has good hold on several areas of Hyderabad. TRS is also eyeing to poach TDP MLAs Talasani Srinivas Yadav and R.Krishnaiah ahead of these polls. KCR instructed his men to complete this task by September end and begin ground work.
