The TTD chairman post is one the prestigious appointments in the Telugu states. Being in charge of the board that regulates the holy Tirumala shrine is an honor and naturally, there is a lot of competition for the same.
As for Jagan, he has dedicated this post entirely to the Reddy community and here is a brief report on the same.
Incidentally, Jagan’s uncle YV Subba Reddy was given the TTD chairman post two consecutive times and he held the position for 4 years. Then, cut to now, people expected Jagan to give the post to some other community, but that isn’t to be.
Jagan has given the TTD chairman post to another one of his close men, Bhumana Karunakar Reddy. He is announced as the new TTD chairman.
With the election around the corner, many expected Jagan to at least consider someone outside the Reddy community at least for the caste equations sake., but that didn’t happen.
Previously, Chandrababu appointed a Balija and a Yadav as the TTD chairman. He maintained parity with the same. But that isn’t the case in Jagan regime now. All three appointments went to the Reddy community with the EO also being a Reddy – Dharma Reddy.
