Thalapathy ruled out any alliance with the BJP. He said BJP was into divisive politics and hence his party will not form any alliance with them. The BJP can have its way anywhere, but not in Tamil Nadu, said the actor-politician.

Recently, when asked about an alliance with TVK, Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that elections were long time away and they will decide on it. He kept the options open for fledgling TVK party. However, now Vijay has said point blank that there were would be no alliance, ending anticipation.

It has to be noted that Thalapathy Vijay who ruled Tamil box office hasn’t been able to create mass euphoria among Tamil people through his political entry. Vijay has taken the services of political strategist and Jan Suraaj head Prashant Kishor for political advise.

But analysts feel the decision might prove costly for Vijay in the long run as the BJP has set its focus on penetrating Tamil Nadu vote bank.

If one looks at the BJP strategy, it has been showering development programmes on states where it has come to power either on its own strength or in alliance.

One such example is of neighbouring Andhra Pradesh where the BJP went to polls with regional parties TDP and Jana Sena.

In Tamil Nadu, BJP will be aligning with AIADMK. If there is an anti-incumbency vote and the alliance comes to power, Vijay would be relegated to back seat in Tamil Nadu. Political analysts feel Vijay could have bargained for the CM seat by forming a triangular alliance like in AP.
