From November, you can fly directly from Vijayawada to Singapore. Indigo Airlines will operate tri-weekly flights every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
This new route brings huge relief for students, business travellers, entrepreneurs, and the Telugu diaspora. Direct connectivity will strengthen trade, tourism, education, and cultural ties with ASEAN countries.
It’s also a major boost for Amaravati’s global linkages, inviting investments and international partnerships. The timing fits perfectly, given Amaravati’s growth based on the Singapore development model.
As Amaravati’s construction gains momentum, more professionals will travel between the two regions. A direct flight saves hours that passengers earlier spent flying from Hyderabad or Chennai to reach Singapore.
Before the pandemic, Indigo operated direct Vijayawada-Singapore flights with about 80% occupancy. Following persistent requests from the Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation, Indigo has finally restored the service.
There’s also a demand for Airbus or Boeing aircraft on this route, which can carry an additional 2–3 tonnes of belly cargo to support business travellers and exporters.
