Though the existing Secretariat is being used by the both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana governments, the visitors flow for the secretariat has recorded a drastic drop. The secretariat used to have 2000-2500 visitors a day before the state division and now the number has come down 1500 on Mondays and 1000-1200 on remaining days. Currently, the AP Secretariat logs 200 to 300 visitors per day.
It is said that visitors have decreased for AP secretariat as Chandra Babu is working from his camp office at Lake View Guest house. Also the ministers are spending very less time in their chambers at the Secretariat and so the visitors are not coming here. Officials say the visitors flow will increase once Chandra Babu occupies his new office in L block from October 3rd. Where as some others opine that the visitors flow may not increase as most of the departments are being shifted to Vijayawada, the temporary capital.
