A shocking and gruesome murder has come to light in Visakhapatnam, where a Navy technician allegedly killed a woman and dismembered her body, storing the parts in a refrigerator.
According to police, the accused, a 35-year-old technician working with the Navy and originally from Rajam in Vizianagaram district, was staying in an apartment in LV Nagar. His wife had reportedly gone to her parental home about a month ago.
The victim, a 29-year-old woman from Visakhapatnam, was known to the accused. On Sunday night, he allegedly invited her to his flat, where the crime took place. After the murder, he is said to have cut the body into pieces and stored them in separate bags inside the fridge.
In a disturbing development, the accused later walked into a police station and surrendered. Based on his confession, police visited the apartment and recovered the body parts. However, reports indicate that the head is still missing.
During initial questioning, the accused claimed that the woman had been harassing him for money and that he acted under pressure. Police are currently verifying this version as part of the investigation.
The incident has sent shockwaves across the city, once again raising concerns about how personal disputes can escalate into extreme violence. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
