YS Jagan Mohan Reddy came before the media after a long time. Coming before the media in the sense that the press meeting in his Tadepalli Palace was held with only the reporters of his favorable media outlets in attendance.
The Pressmeet is all about a single-point agenda. Jagan spoke for close to two hours and was only worried about Super Six and Button Nokkadam.
He was reading out this scheme, that scheme, and was saying nothing is happening. He also read out the schemes he gave and boasted about them.
In a developing country like India, Welfare and Development go hand in hand.
No government can ignore welfare completely. But the problem with Jagan is that he believes there is no world beyond welfare schemes and the so-called Button Nokkadam.
This attitude cost Jagan an election and YSR Congress ended up with a humiliating defeat in 2024.
The people have given a clear message that freebies alone are not enough and the government should do development as well.
But it looks like Jagan did not get the message at all.
There is no single question to the Government about any lapse in the Development part.
Unless there is a balance in Jagan’s approach, he will constantly be away from the people.
On the other hand, Jagan also confirmed that his party will continue to boycott the Assembly sessions. When asked if he would at least send the other MLAs, he replied in negative. He further said informing the people about the facts through media is enough.
The upcoming Assembly session is the crucial budget session and it is the first full-fledged budget that will be tabled in the new Government.
It is a very important session and the Opposition can definitely make a mark if used rightly. Even then, Jagan is going to avoid it.
