Former Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu left the YSR Congress Party just nine days after joining. He said he’s taking a break from politics to focus on playing in the ILT20 cricket tournament in Dubai. But the real reason seems to be something else.
Rayudu supported the Andhra Pradesh government before, but he left because of a political move by Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy. Reddy tried to move sitting MP Lavu Srikrishna Devarayalu, but Devarayalu refused. This created an opportunity for Rayudu, but he decided to distance himself from the party, saying he’s taking a break from active politics.
Surprisingly, Rayudu started following the arch-rival of YSRCP, Janasena party, on Instagram, adding an unexpected turn to his political ties and making people wonder about his future in politics.
The Janasena Party plans to contest in the 2024 AP assembly elections in alliance with TDP.
Although Pawan Kalyan might be lenient and willing to accept him, Chandrababu and Lokesh might not agree. Moreover, Janasena is contesting in limited, selective seats, making it unlikely for Ambati Rayudu to secure a seat in alliance.
