Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will have a crucial meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi today evening in Delhi. It is reliably learnt that he will be mentioning about the promised Special Status, help for deficit budget and funds for AP’s capital with the Prime Minister. Chandrababu who is in his native Naravaripalle for Bhogi flew to Hyderabad last night and from there to Delhi.
The meeting assumes significance in the circumstances, the Central government not paying enough attention to AP’s problems after the bifurcation. Also this meeting is timed ahead as Center gears to prepare the budget for the next fiscal. Chandrababu will also meet Union Ministers Niramala Sitaraman, Uma Bharathi and Radha Mohan in this trip on various issues.
It is known that the Special Status for the truncated state is promised in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act. The act also requires Central government to fund all the expenses required for the new state capital.
