YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is desperate about the upcoming election. As the alliance of TDP and Janasena looks formidable, Jagan is resorting to caste politics to save this election.
We have seen some crazy changes to get the BC votes. For instance, Anil Kumar Yadav is shifted from Nellore City to Narasaraopeta Parliament to try and appease the Yadav vote bank.
He seems to be targeting the Yadav population mainly giving them majority seats. Especially, they are being fielded in seats where Kammas are the candidates from the Telugu Desam Party.
By doing nothing to the BCs, Jagan is trying to portray himself as the Yadav Savior by giving seats to a handful of leaders.
Even in these seats, there is a pattern. The Yadavs are being accommodated in Coastal Andhra where the YSR Congress is weak. In Rayalseema where the YSR Congress is strong, as always the Reddy community gets importance.
So much for the love of Yadavs, Jagan is fielding Rich Reddy candidates in Rayalaseema against TDP’s Yadav candidates to defeat them.
In Mydukuru, TDP is fielding Putta Sudhakar Yadav and on him, YSR Congress is giving a ticket to Raghu Rami Reddy. In Thambalapalle, Dwarakanath Reddy is the YSRCP candidate on TDP’s Shankar Yadav.
Giving more seats to Yadav is just a numbers gimmick. The real idea is to give them tickets in weak areas while defeating the same community leaders in their backyard (Rayalaseema).
So, BCs can only become posters for Jagan’s election campaign but not for giving them tickets where there is a chance to win.
