AP Fibernet Chairman GV Reddy has exposed the connection between the YSR Congress Party (YCP) and director Ram Gopal Varma. He revealed that during YCP’s tenure, the party illegally paid Rs. 2.10 crore to Ram Gopal Varma.
It is well-known that RGV had shared pro-YCP posts and offensive content against TDP and Janasena during Jagan Mohan Reddy’s regime.
He also made a film called Vyuham earlier this year. GV Reddy claimed that when Vyuham was telecast on AP Fibernet, YCP paid RGV Rs. 2.1 crore illegally. For the 18 lakh views the film got, RGV should have been paid Rs. 2 lakh. But the previous government paid him Rs. 2.1 crore.
GV Reddy asserted that Chandrababu Naidu launched AP Fibernet in 2016 to provide affordable internet services to poor and middle-class people.
He revealed that by 2019, 24,000 km of lines had been laid and 10 lakh connections had been provided. However, everything deteriorated when YCP came to power in 2019, and the number of connections dropped to just 5 lakh.
GV Reddy accused the previous government of harassing cable operators and alleged that key documents were altered to protect YCP’s illegal activities.
He further stated that a female employee had handed over these documents to YCP MP Vijaya Sai Reddy, and the employee was eventually sacked from her position.
He also said that a vigilance investigation is currently underway to look into the corrupt activities at AP Fibernet, which were carried out under the supervision of the then MD, Madhusudhan.
