Andhra Pradesh Congress president, Sharmila is facing a very peculiar situation with regard to her political career. Despite being the daughter of YS Rajasekhar Reddy, she was not able to gain the public support that would have been expected.
First, there was this experiment in Telangana, where her party was eventually merged into the Congress. She later shifted to Andhra Pradesh, Congress and fought a fierce battle against his brother YS Jagan during the election.
This unrelenting battle against YS Jagan is the only victory for Sharmila in brief political carrier as she was able to play apart in the rapid decline of Jagan. She managed to get her revenge against him for the alleged property invasion by playing her part in YCP’s downfall.
But at the same time, she could not taste successful politically as the Congress was clueless in the election, and Sharmila herself ended up losing the Kadapa MP seat.
And now she expected to gain the Rajya Sabha nomination that was apparently promised to her during the time of joining the Congress. It was reported that Sharmila would be getting the Rajya Sabha nomination from Karnataka Congress, and she was hopeful of the same.
However, this also entered in disappointment for the female politician as the Karnataka Congress could not accommodate her and she is left without the Rajya Sabha nomination now.
In a way, the only victory for Sharmila in her political stint till now is her desired downfall of YS Jagan, while the rest has been going completely against her. But as the usual saying goes, politics are always tough and challenging, so we have to stick around for better results.
