YSR Congress Mangalagiri MLA Alla Rama Krishna Reddy resigned as MLA and to the party recently. Alla helped Jagan a lot by creating troubles to the TDP Government between 2014 and 2019 by filing many cases and stopping key projects.
He emerged as a Giantkiller by defeating Nara Lokesh in Mangalagiri.
But Jagan dumped him after the elections. He went back on his word of giving cabinet berth to Alla and now refused him the Mangalagiri ticket as well.
Meanwhile, Alla had announced joining Sharmila’s party in the coming elections.
“Sharmila is yet to make a decision about joining the Congress party. I am forever a Bhakt of YS Rajasekhara Reddy. If Sharmila decides to join Congress, I will join her. My political future is dependent on Sharmila’s decision,” Alla said.
It was rumored that Congress was to weaken the YSR Congress and grab its leaders by bringing Sharmila into their party.
At least the first step happened as per the plan. If more MLAs come out, it has to be seen if they can help Congress redeem in Andhra Pradesh.
