The Pulivendula constituency has become a talking point in AP politics. Of late, there have been speculations that Sharmila herself might contest from Pulivendula to take on Jagan.
And now, the latest set of speculations are claiming that late YS Viveka’s wife Sowbhagyamma might be contesting from Pulivendula on the Congress ticket.
This comes right after Viveka’s daughter Sunitha met Congress AP wing chief Sharmila the other day. The media reports are claiming that Sowbhagyamma could be fielded in Pulivendula to try and split the votes.
Amidst the existing situation of YCP top men being accused of Viveka’s murder, having his wife contest against Jagan could have some sort of a say. The wife of Jagan’s deceased uncle contesting against him could bring a negative image on Jagan.
But this is just a media speculation for now and there is nothing official about it. We have to see whom Sharmila will field against Jagan in his bastion of Pulivendula.
Earlier, Viveka himself had contested against Vijayamma in Pulivendula in the 2011 by-polls but to no avail. The chances are that we could see a YS vs YS clash again in Pulivendula.
