YSR Chandrababu Naidu Jagan

The verdict of the Voters of Andhra Pradesh is sealed in the EVMs and it will be out only on June 4th. Even for knowing the mood, we will have to wait till June 1st at 6 PM to know the Exit Polls. There is a ban on the Exit Polls until then.

YSR Congress and TDP have their own estimations about their victory. The language and body language of TDP leaders are looking more confident. To infuse confidence in their cadres, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy made a big statement at the I-PAC office.

Later, YSR Congress leaders are following it up with Muhurthams about Jagan’s Swearing-in ceremony in Vishakapatnam.

The other day, speaking in Vizag, YV Subba Reddy announced that Jagan will take oath at 9.36 AM on June 9th in Vishakapatnam.

Speaking about these tactics, Prashant Kishor said something very interesting.

“I have been in this career for ten years. I am yet to see a politician admit defeat before the results. There are leaders who say they will win even after four rounds of counting,” Prashant Kishor said in an interview with Barkha Dutt.

It is important that Political Parties keep the hopes of the cadre and supporters intact or else agents will not turn up at the counting centers. In such cases, the winning party can influence the officials and alter the results in tight contests.

So, no politician admits that he will lose.

There is a chance that Jagan’s statement and other YSR Congress leaders are similar.

This type of political posturing is not anything new.

After the 1999 elections polling, YS Rajasekhara Reddy had his house freshly painted saying that it should look good to the people and leaders visiting to congratulate him. Congress lost that election.

After the 2004 elections polling, the TDP leadership decorated NTR Bhavan with lighting to bring a celebratory mood. TDP tasted it worst defeat in that election.

We will have to see if Jagan and YSR Congress leaders will also fall into this category.

After the 2019 elections, Chandrababu made tall claims of retaining power with 130+ seats but got a massive defeat. This time Naidu chose not to come before the media after the elections.
