YSR Congress which challenged not to come to the Assembly till the No Confidence Motion is taken up discussion deviated from its challenge and attended the Assembly today. The opposition party returned to the house only with the intention of stalling the proceedings there. The party gave a adjournment motion regarding the Power Tariff hike and it was rejected by the Speaker telling to discuss it at later stage.
YSR Congress came to the center of the house and started protesting against the power charges. It is clear that the opposition is not in the intention of allowing the house to function. We will have to see if one more suspension is in the offing for the main opposition party.
It is known that the government had hiked the power charges minimally by 5%. They made sure that common man is not burdened by the charges by limiting the hike to the consumers who use above 200 Units. The government also exempted Agriculture, Sugar, Poultry and other cottage industries from the hike. But the opposition still has a problem!
YSR Congress staged a walk out against Government’s stand to increase power tariff. Despite trying to disrupt the proceedings, Speaker Kodela patiently dealt with them today. Even the ruling party went little soft with out criticizing Jagan much.
