It’s been over a year since the introduction of 5G services in India, with Airtel and Jio leading the way as the first telecom operators to offer these services. As of now, both companies provide free 5G services to their customers, but we now hear that they might soon switch to a paid model.
Reports suggest that Airtel and Jio are planning to discontinue unlimited 5G plans and introduce new pricing, likely increasing charges by 5 to 10 per cent compared to existing 4G plans.

As Airtel and Jio aim to expand 5G services nationwide, their focus will shift towards monetization as the adoption of 5G increases. Estimates indicate that the number of 5G users in India could surpass 200 million by the end of 2024.
