Diwali Effect: Eye Injury Cases Surge In Hyderabad

In the aftermath of this year’s Diwali festivities, Hyderabad faced a surge in eye injuries, adding to the annual tally of mishaps during the festival.

Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital in the city reported 50 cases the day after Diwali, with 43 males and 6 females, aged 15 to 17, seeking medical attention. Among them, 5 were admitted, 1 underwent surgery, and 3 were placed under observation.

The majority of incidents occurred in the city area, highlighting the persistent lack of adherence to safety precautions during the festival season.
