Sharmila Appointed As PCC President

As expected, YS Sharmila has been officially appointed as the president of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC). She will accept the role with immediate effect.

Ever since Sharmila merged her YSRTP into Congress, it was speculated that she would be made the PCC president. Yesterday, Gidugu Rudhra Raju resigned from the PCC president post. His resignation cleared the route for Sharmila. The Congress high command also appointed the outgoing PCC president Rudhra Raju as the special invitee to the Congress Working Committee.

Sharmila’s appointment as the PCC president makes politics in Andhra Pradesh interesting ahead of the assembly elections.
