Water politics in Telangana are getting heated up every passing day. After intense debates in the Assembly for the last couple of days, both Congress and BRS are taking the issue to a new level today. While Congress leaders are visiting the Medigadda Barrage along with MLAs and MLCs, BRS is holding a huge public meeting in Nalgonda under the leadership of KCR.
During the debate in the Assembly a few of days ago, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy invited all party MLAs and MLCs to visit the Medigadda Barrage. As expected, BRS MLAs skipped this visit to attend the “Chalo Nalgonda” event. The MLA group are expected to reach the location by 3 pm. They will examine the damages done to the Barrage and also look at the presentation before coming back to Hyderabad.
For the last few days, Congress MLAs have blamed BRS for wasting thousands of crores on the Kaleshwaram Project and constructing flawed barrages and reservoirs. After Medigadda’s visit, Revanth is expected to defend his allegations with proper numbers.
On the other side, BRS Chief KCR is expected to answer all allegations in his own style at the Nalgonda public meeting. This is the first time KCR attending a public meeting after the conclusion of elections. He didn’t even attend Assembly sessions till now. So, everyone is curious about how he will counterattack Congress’s allegations on the Krishna water dispute.
Politics in the state have reached an intense level with two significant events coinciding on the same day and time.
