Film celebrities often make fools of themselves in public by putting on an intellectual face when speaking about general affairs or politics.
One such incident happened to Suriya’s wife, Jyothika. She was asked by the Tamil media why she had not voted in the recent polls and whether she should have set a real-life example by voting.
Confidently, she said, “I vote every year.” When corrected that voting doesn’t take place every year, she agreed and continued, “Sometimes we can be out of town, we can be sick; it’s a private matter. Sometimes we vote privately, we might do it online; not everything is publicized. There is a private side to life that we need to respect and give space to.”
Now, netizens are brutally trolling her, asking how she voted online and privately. They mock her, suggesting that the question was about voting in elections, not online voting for shows like Bigg Boss.
But the confident manner in which she spoke instantly triggered trolls. She will likely regret this embarrassing response for a long time whenever she recalls it.
