A tragic incident took place in Ahmedabad, where two young children lost their lives after consuming dosa made from ready made batter. The parents, Bhavna and Vimal, had purchased the batter from the market and prepared food at home.
The couple consumed the dosa and also fed their children, Mishri aged 3 years and Raha aged 3 months. Soon after eating, all four fell seriously ill and were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Despite medical efforts, both children could not be saved. The parents are currently undergoing treatment, and their condition is reported to be critical, adding to the gravity of the incident.
This heartbreaking case highlights possible negligence and raises serious concerns about food safety. It also draws attention to the risks associated with consuming unverified food products from the market.
Another important concern is that a three month old baby was fed outside food. Medical experts generally advise that infants should not be given solid or external food before six months of age.
Even after six months, home cooked food is considered the safest option for infants. Feeding outside or packaged food at such an early stage can pose serious health risks.
Consumers must exercise caution while purchasing food items, especially those without proper branding or food safety certification. Unregulated products can be harmful and may not meet hygiene standards.
It is always advisable to buy food from licensed vendors or trusted brands. As much as possible, outside food should be avoided, particularly for children and elderly individuals who are more vulnerable.
