A disturbing situation has surfaced outside a college in Indore. When a News18 reporter asked a few college girls if they faced harassment from boys, their answer revealed a far more serious problem.
The girls said their real fear comes not from classmates but from middle-aged men who loiter near the college gate. They claimed these men, many of their fathers’ age, pass vulgar comments and make indecent gestures that are hard to even describe.
The students said they feel anxious and unsafe every time they see these men. One girl mentioned that the way they stare and behave makes her scared to even walk freely near the college.
It is deeply troubling that grown men, who should act responsibly, are the ones making young women feel unsafe. Instead of setting an example, such behaviour brings shame and creates fear among students.
The girls have demanded strict action against those men so they can attend college without fear. Women’s safety is not a privilege—it is a basic right that society must protect and uphold.
