Professor’s Exploitation Exposed

A shocking case of alleged sexual exploitation has emerged from a college in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, where multiple students have accused a senior professor of serious misconduct.

The accused, a department head and chief proctor, allegedly abused his position for over two decades, preying on students by promising good results and job placements. Reports suggest that he recorded videos to blackmail victims, ensuring their silence.

Despite multiple complaints from students in the past, no action was taken until the National Commission for Women intervened.

This raises questions about the failure of the college administration and law enforcement in addressing such serious allegations earlier. Had authorities acted on the initial complaints, countless students could have been spared from exploitation.

Following the commission’s inquiry, the local police launched an investigation and confirmed the allegations.

A case has now been registered under multiple sections, including rape and blackmail. However, the accused professor has since gone into hiding, evading arrest.

This incident once again exposes the deep flaws in India’s educational institutions, where power imbalances leave students vulnerable to abuse. The fact that the college administration reportedly did not cooperate with the investigation further fuels concerns about a systemic cover-up.

Authorities must ensure that justice is served swiftly, not just by arresting the accused but also by holding accountable those who ignored previous complaints.

Without strict enforcement and institutional reforms, such cases still continue to surface, leaving students unprotected in spaces meant for education and growth.
