Police at Gandhi Nagar crime scene

A tragic incident unfolded in Gandhi Nagar near Sector 11 on Thursday night when a 30-year-old construction worker lost his life following a drunken fight with his colleague. Police confirmed the case on Friday, describing it as a result of sudden provocation.

The victim, identified as Pappu Kumar from Tandwa in Uttar Pradesh, was employed at the under-construction building where the violent clash took place. The quarrel reportedly started after fish curry was accidentally spilled during a drinking session.

Both men, under the influence of alcohol, got into a heated argument that soon turned physical. In the scuffle, Kumar was struck with bricks and marble slabs. The injuries to his head and face were so severe that he died on the spot.

Early Friday morning around 6.30am, his body was discovered lying in a pool of blood on the ground floor. Alarmed co-workers immediately alerted police officials, who arrived at the scene and began collecting forensic evidence.

The accused, believed to be Kumar’s colleague, fled the site shortly after the incident. Police have registered a case of murder and launched a search operation to trace and arrest the suspect. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.

Authorities said the investigation is ongoing and assured that the accused will be brought to justice. Officials also appealed to workers to avoid alcohol-related disputes that often escalate into serious violence.
