Recently there has been a spurt of spy movies in India where an ISI agent is involved. The movies have received a good reception from the fans as well. However, incidents like that in reality are not great for the country. A spy who worked in the MEA has been arrested by the UP ATS on the suspicion of providing sensitive information to Pakistan.
The arrested man was employed at the Indian embassy in Moscow. The UP Anti Terrorism Squad had intelligence from confidential sources that he was involved in supplying sensitive information to the ISI of Pakistan. He came to India on a leave which allowed the ATS to take action.
The man managed to get access to sensitive data and information using his position within the embassy. UP ATS suspects that ISI lures people connected to the embassy with money to get any information related to the Indian army.
He has been serving as a Multi-tasking staff member at the Moscow embassy since 2021. The ministry is aware of the situation and is cooperating with the investigation.
