As riots are spreading everywhere, Patna is not in any way behind the game.
During the nationwide Bharat Bandh called by 21 Dalit and Adivasi organisations to protest the recent Supreme Court ruling on sub- categorization of quotas. Bihar Police clashed with the protesters heavily.
Meanwhile, the Police constable overlooked the fact that the Sub Divisional Magistrate, Srikant Kundil Khandlekar was also present there.
During the heavy lathi charge the Police mistakenly lathicharged the SDM as well, which escalated the heated level to another level.
The video of this incident is circulating throughout the whole internet.
A “X” user named prayag posted the video and captioned it as, “SDM saahab ko hi koot diya patna main (0.6 – 0.9) #BharatBandh” .
The Police were trying to control the protest and in order to do that they started the lathicharge, and during that heated moment an on-duty policeman unintentionally struck the SDM.
Once they recognized him, the SDM had already been beaten up several times, but later on the policeman who was responsible for this incident, alongside a senior officer, apologised to the SDM, and explained to him that the incident was an unintentional and a very big mistake.
