A brutal murder in Proddatur town of Kadapa district has left residents in shock. A man named Yashwanth allegedly killed his mother, Lakshmi, who worked as a government teacher.
Police said Yashwanth attacked her with a knife during an argument and slit her throat. He was later taken into custody.
Reports suggest the fight began after Yashwanth demanded ₹10,000 for his personal expenses. When Lakshmi refused, he lost control and committed the crime. Afterward, he allegedly sat watching television as if nothing had happened.
Neighbours described Lakshmi as a kind and hardworking woman devoted to her family. The news of her death at the hands of her own son has deeply saddened the community.
