Police in Bengaluru have registered an FIR against three people linked to the airport outlet of Rameshwaram cafe. The named individuals are Sumanth B. L., Divya Raghavendra Rao, and Raghavendra Rao. The case involves food safety concerns and alleged defamation.
The complaint was filed by a man named Nikhil. He said he ate at the cafe on July 24, 2025, before boarding a flight to Guwahati. He ordered Pongal and Filter Coffee for his meal.
While eating, he noticed a worm in the Pongal. The staff offered a replacement dish, but he refused it. He then left the cafe to catch his scheduled flight.
The next day, news reports claimed the cafe accused him of demanding Rs 25 lakh and trying to damage its reputation. Nikhil denied all charges. He said he never asked for money and never threatened the outlet.
He also said he was already on the flight at the time the cafe alleged the incident happened. He asked police to verify CCTV footage and travel records. Police confirmed that the matter is under investigation, while the cafe has not issued any statement yet.
