Rapido’s Shocking Failure: Women Safety at Risk

A troubling incident involving a Rapido driver has triggered public outrage after a man from Gurugram confronted the rider for sending inappropriate messages to his wife. Abhimanyu, who shared the incident on Instagram, claimed that the driver not only misused the platform but also operated under someone else’s Rapido ID.

According to Abhimanyu, the incident occurred when his wife messaged the Rapido driver to confirm his location. Instead of responding appropriately, the driver sent her his personal number and disturbingly offered to come to her home.

In the video shared online, Abhimanyu can be seen confronting the driver, who repeatedly pleads to be let go. The driver reportedly claimed it was a “misunderstanding” and that he had misinterpreted the message as an invitation.

What made the situation more alarming was Abhimanyu’s revelation that the driver wasn’t even using his own verified account. This not only exposed a serious gap in Rapido’s verification process but also heightened concerns around the safety of female passengers.

Tagging Rapido in his post, Abhimanyu asked why the company had failed to respond adequately. “How is a driver running your app with someone else’s ID? We still haven’t received a call or resolution,” he wrote.

Social media users rallied in support, applauding Abhimanyu for standing up and demanding accountability. Many expressed concern over the broader issue of women’s safety during app-based rides.
