A woman has sparked waves of controversy around the internet due to her extremely racist and generalising remarks towards Indians.
In a post made on the social media platform X, the woman said, “Indian families behave very antisocially out in public. For example, if you’ve got a good spot they want, they come sit inappropriately close to you, knowing it will make you leave…
…I’ve also noticed that they like to shamelessly cut in line (airport, museum, etc).”
She further added, “In Paris a year ago, I was walking out of Centre Pompidou when an Indian family tried to cut in the line for the entrance…
…A very tall, big American guy in front of them just turned around and very loudly said, “Oh HELL NO, and the whole Indian family instantly started feigning ignorance.”
While some are supporting her comments while hurling racist remarks, many Indians have come forward to strongly condemn her views, accusing her of blatant generalisation and racism.
One social media user said, “India bashing = more views. Ain’t that right Christiane?”
Another commented, “These people always act like they’re the gatekeepers of public decency. Meanwhile, they go to our countries and act entitled beyond belief.”
Even if the woman’s story is true, blaming an entire race for her bad experience is nothing but outright disrespectful to all the Indians around the world.
People should remain cautious about this to prevent such extreme hate from cementing its place in the mainstream world.
